2024: A Year of Growth, Evolution, and Exciting Opportunities

It’s that time of year to look back on the last 12 months and review what we have achieved!

A New Chapter: Rebranding to Rory MacDonald

This year marked a pivotal moment for our business as we transitioned from Kensington Flats to Rory MacDonald. Sophie led the rebranding process and worked with a great agency to develop a fresh identity and a refined focus on what truly makes us stand out. Taking this step back allowed us to:

• Clearly define our core strengths and values.
• Identify how we are uniquely meeting modern consumer needs.
• Build a website that reflects not only the services we offer but why we’re valuable to work with.

Thanks to Sophie’s ability to define our brand, this exercise reaffirmed my pride in offering a genuine, authentic service, one that’s adaptable in an ever-changing property market while staying rooted in solid, unshakable values

Personal Every deal, decision, and outcome is a direct reflection of Rory and the team. Delivering exceptional service isn’t just a goal, it’s the standard.
Integrated Our strength lies in providing seamless, multidisciplinary expertise across management, lettings, sales, and block management.
Forward Thinking From leveraging cutting-edge technology for efficient service to crafting innovative marketing strategies for property sales, we’re always driving progress.
Consistent As a family-run business with over 35 years of experience, we offer unwavering dedication. The same trusted team will care for your assets, committed to building long-term value.

Launching into Residential Sales
This year also saw us expand into residential sales, opening new doors and incredible opportunities. Here are a few highlights:

Joining The Agency Group
A breath of fresh air! Meeting inspiring agents, gaining new insights and visiting some exceptional properties, including:

  • A £14 million home in Cobham (see photo below)
  • Three eco-homes in Chalfont St Giles
  • A £7 million family home on The Crown Estate

Personal Highlight

Securing the sale (STC) of Hambro House, a stunning 4,858 sq ft Victorian property in Putney. Sophie created a bespoke landing page for the property, utilized AI to highlight its full potential, and executed a targeted social media campaign. Combined with my thorough, 45-minute viewings, these efforts successfully secured a sale to a wonderful family set to move in early 2025.

Technology

A key aim for this year was to adopt new technology as much as possible to improve our level of property services. With regards to sales, we always ask ourselves if this was our property, how would we want it presented? This is exactly what motivated us to create a set of Ai generated images to help potential buyers see what Hambro House could look like. The set of images successfully generated traction online, particularly on Instagram and LinkedIn. Sophie and I were pleased with how potential buyers reacted, seeing what a refurbished Hambro House could look like.

Meeting New Clients

One of the best aspects of sales has been meeting a diverse range of clients. Listening to their needs and lifestyle changes has enriched my approach, enabling tailored strategies and building a robust new client database.

I’ve embraced the learning curve with excitement, connecting with new agents and properties, carving out my style, and preparing for some exciting projects set to launch next year.

Launching Our Podcast: Let’s Talk Property
Another exciting milestone was stepping into the podcasting world! Sophie and I are thrilled to announce our new show, Let’s Talk Property, launching in January 2025.
  • What to Expect: Discussions on everything from the Renters’ Reform Bill to insider chats with property investors and even humorous tales from our contractors.
  • Why It’s Fun: Sitting in the studio, talking about the industry we love, and creating something engaging for everyone involved in property

Expanding My Network
Joining a new networking group has been a game-changer. Each monthly expert talk has broadened my perspective and added new tools to my toolkit. Whilst joining The Property Professionals Breakfast Club, I’ve listened to Emma Harris, Chief of Glow talk about work-life balance and Paul Shamplina discuss the Renters’ Rights Bill 2024.

It might sound like a cliche but Social Media, particularly Instagram has allowed me to widen my network, particularly with leading architects and property buyers. It’s a fantastic platform that’s allowed me to learn, meet and do business with so many.

I am grateful for the opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and learn from their experiences. Here’s to even more collaboration in 2025!
